Pet Philanthropy Circle's

2014 Pet Hero Awards


Jewel  and Robert Morris opened the gates to their magnificent Hobby Hill estate in Water Mill for the 3rd Annual Pet Philanthropy Circle’s Pet Hero Awards Saturday,  August 23rd
from 5pm – 7:30pm.


Amanda Hearst, Georgina Bloomberg,
Jean Shafiroff and Andy Sabin received awards for their pet philanthropy work. Prince Lorenzo Borghese was named Humanitarian of the Year.


Jean Shafiroff received the
Outstanding Volunteer Award. Friends of Finn Founder and Chairwoman Amanda Hearst was honored for her tireless work as will Friends of Finn committee member Georgina Bloomberg. The Outstanding Pet Philanthropist of the Year Award was awarded to Andy Sabin.


Additional honorees include Tony Award Winner William Berloni for Dog Trainer of the Year having worked with Sandy from the Broadway show Annie and Dr. David T. Crouch, DVM for Outstanding Veterinarian of the Year. Best Friends Animal Society of Utah was honored with the Outstanding Animal Welfare Organization Award as pioneers of the NO-KILL movement, celebrating their 30th Anniversary. Outstanding Shelter honors where be given to
Pet Haven Rescue, a cage free rescue sanctuary, Angel On A Leash's David Frei took home a Special Achievement Award for his work with Southampton Hospital and Outstanding Juniors Brittany and Ariel Lavalle where recognized for their contributions to Last Chance Animal Rescue. "Maddy" with Angela Fletcher won Amazing Pet!


Cocktails and hors d’ouevres from Janet O'Brien Caterers. Flowers by Topaz designer Mark Massone provided the floral décor and Felicia Greenberg will showcased table art and event designs. Attendees mingle around Hobby Hill’s pool before the awards ceremony took place on the beautiful brick pagoda stage that overlooks rolling greens. Thanks to Philip Demacos with DJ Matty C from New York's Finest Entertainment, Sean McKoy from Reel McKoy Media

The night featured an amazing silent auction, special Pet Hero Award presentations from Lou Wegner,  Pet

Philanthropy Circle's Junior Ambassador, with additional surprise guest presentations by The Islip Horsemen's Association's
The Spirit of Long Island Mounted Drill Team and Anthony L. Ungaro of whom both received Certificates of Excellence.
